Support for Mac OS X 10.4 Intel 64bit requires OS X 10.4.10. Mathematica can also be used on Mac OS X 10.5 PPC. Mathematica9 can only be run on 64bit IntelMac systems. Mathematica 7 has been verified for all main Linux platforms equipped with Linux 2.4 kernel.įor newer Linux platforms, additional compatible libraries may need to be installed.įor individuals using Mac OS X 10.6 or above on an Intel chipset, the latest version of Mathematica can be run.


The following compatible library is required: Enterprise and popular open source versions of Linux have been tested with Mathematica under normal use. Mathematica supports front end Window Systems, and uses the same Qt Application framework as Main Linux KDE desktop environments over Version 7 as its user interface.

Mathematica usually runs without issue on most new products using Linux Kernel 2.6 or higher. For new Linux products, additional compatible libraries may be necessary. Mathematica 9 is completely tested for the following Linux products.
